Does acupuncture have any side effects?

The risk of si​de effects are extremely low. If there are any, they would include soreness​ and minor bleeding or bruising where the needles were inserted.


Can children be treated with acupuncture?

Absolutely. Children respond very well to acupuncture due to their vibrant energy! Call today to see if this would be a good fit for your child. 


What kind of training is required for an Acupuncturist?

Currently, the Master's degree program in acupuncture (3-years) is the entry-level requirement for professional practice in the U.S.  In addition, Acupuncturist must take the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Board exams. Acupuncturist are regulated and licensed through the State Medical Board.


Does Acupuncture treatment hurt?

Acupuncture rarely 'hurts'. The most that people experience is a dull ache around the base of the inserted needle, or a slight tingling feeling when the needle is inserted. Points at the extremities, like toe or finger ends, can sometimes be a little sharp, but the sensation is usually brief. The treatments themselves, patients find to be very relaxing.


How many treatments will I need?

That completely depends on the severity and length or quality of the current issue. Typically a series of sessions consist of 6-12 treatments. 


Are the needles safe?

All needles are single use, sterile needles. 


Can I use a HSA/FSA card for services? 

Absolutely, this is considered a medical service. 


Is this covered by insurance? 

That is strictly dependent upon your specific insurance. We do not bill insurance directly however if you know your insurance covers a set amount of services we can provide a statement you can submit for reimbursement from your insurance company.
